Als Teil des diesjährigen FAVORITEN Festivals bringt das digitale Glossar des (Ver)Lernens verschiedene Stimmen aus der Dortmunder Stadtgesellschaft in kurzen Videointerviews zusammen. Das Museum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte (MKK) präsentiert das „Glossar des (Ver)Lernens“ in einer Ausstellung vom 10. September bis 30. Oktober. Eröffnung ist am Freitag, 9. September, 18 Uhr.
Im Zentrum des FAVORITEN Festival steht in diesem Jahr der gemeinsame, kontinuierliche Prozess des (Ver)Lernens und Miteinanderwachsens zwischen den Geschlechtern, Generationen, Klassen und Grenzen. Um besser zu verstehen, was (Ver)Lernen in Dortmund heißen kann, sind die Kuratorin Eva Busch und der Fotograf Sören Meffert in verschiedene Nachbarschaften der Festival-Spielorte ausgeschwärmt und haben Gespräche geführt. Mit Expert*innen verschiedener Arbeits- und Lebensbereiche aus Dortmund und Umgebung sprachen sie über ihre Erfahrungen des (Ver)Lernens.
Die dabei entstandenen, ca. 10-minütigen Videobeiträge versammeln sich in einem stetig wachsenden „Glossar des (Ver)Lernens“, das ein neues, unordentliches, fragiles, lust- und kraftvolles Alphabet ausbuchstabiert: mit W wie Wegwerfgesellschaft, F wie Familie, P wie Patriarchat und U wie Unruhe. Die Besucher*innen begegnen Geschwistern, die alte Familienbilder verlernen, oder einer Gärtnerin, die als Teil einer solidarischen Landwirtschaft verschiedene Produktions- und Beziehungsweisen erprobt. Unter K wie Klinik berichtet eine Pflegekraft von ihrem Alltag am Klinikum Dortmund, während unter V wie Vögel ein Hobby-Ornithologe über seine Begeisterung für die Vogelwelt erzählt.
Das „Glossar des (Ver)Lernens“ ist eine vielstimmige Einladung, sich selbst auf die Abenteuer des (Ver)Lernens einzulassen. Beteiligt sind Initiativen wie Decolonize Dortmund, Nicht ohne uns 14%, das Sozial-ökologische Zentrum Dortmund u.a.
Die Ausstellung ist zu den regulären Öffnungszeiten des Museums bei freiem Eintritt zu sehen. In einer Kurator*innenführung am 16.09.2022 um 16:00 geben Eva Busch und Sören Meffert Einblicke in den Entstehungsprozess und laden zum Austausch ein.

Neben der Ausstellung im MKK sind die Videos während des FAVORITEN Festivals auch als Installation im Dortmunder DEPOT und digital zu sehen. Unter dem Motto „(Un)Learning for possible futures: There can be no return to normal, because normal was the problem in the first place“ setzt sich das FAVORITEN Festival 2022 künstlerisch und diskursiv mit den Herausforderungen der Gegenwart und Zukunft auseinander.

(UN)LEARNING TICKETING & SOLIDARISCHES PREISSYSTEM
Im Sinne des Festival-Mottos (UN)LEARNING FOR POSSIBLE FUTURES setzen wir uns mit solidarischer Ökonomie auseinander und führen in diesem Jahr ein neues Preissystem ein: Pay What You Want. Es gibt verschiedene Preisstufen zwischen 1€ und 25€ und das Publikum entscheidet selbst, wie viel es bezahlen will und kann. Die Qualität der Sitzplätze wird durch den Preis nicht beeinflusst. Einhergehend mit diesem Preissystem verzichten wir auf andere Ermäßigungen.

As part of this year's FAVORITEN Festival, the digital "Glossary of (Un)Learning" brings together different voices from Dortmund's urban society in short video interviews. The Museum für Kunst und Kulturgeschichte (MKK) presents the "Glossary of (Un)Learning" in an exhibition from 10 September to 30 October. The opening is on Friday, 9 September, 6 pm.
The focus of the FAVORITEN Festival this year is the common, continuous process of (un)learning and growing together between genders, generations, classes and borders. In order to better understand what (un)learning means in Dortmund, curator Eva Busch and photographer Sören Meffert travelled different neighbourhoods of the festival venues and talked to the people. They spoke with experts from various fields of work and life in Dortmund and the surrounding area about their experiences of (un)learning.
The resulting 10-minute video contributions are gathered in a constantly growing glossary of (un)learning that spells out a new, messy, fragile, fun and powerful alphabet: with W for throwaway society, F for family, P for patriarchy and U for restlessness. The visitors meet siblings who unlearn old family images, or a gardener who tries out different ways of producing and relating as part of a solidarity-based agriculture. Under K for Clinic, a nurse reports on her everyday life at the Dortmund Clinic, while under V for Birds, an amateur ornithologist talks about his enthusiasm for the bird world.
The "Glossary of (Un)Learning" is a polyphonic invitation to embark on the adventures of (un)learning for yourself. Initiatives such as Decolonize Dortmund, Nicht ohne uns 14%, the Social-Ecological Centre Dortmund and others are involved.
The exhibition can be seen during the museum's regular opening hours with free admission. Eva Busch and Sören Meffert will be giving a guided tour of the exhibition on 16.09.2022 at 16:00, providing insights into the process of creation and inviting visitors to exchange ideas.

In addition to the exhibition at the MKK, the videos can also be seen as an installation at the Dortmund DEPOT and digitally during the festival. Under the motto "(Un)Learning for possible futures: There can be no return to normal, because normal was the problem in the first place", the FAVORITEN Festival 2022 deals artistically and discursively with the challenges of the present and the future.
