Programmänderung bei den künstlerischen Arbeiten von Zwoisy Mears-Clarke: Anstelle von Geneigter zeigen wir Tiefeneruptionen: Das Aufbrechen des deutschen Kolonialerbes in Namibia | WARP & WEFT im FAVORITEN Festival 2022.
Wir bedauern mitzuteilen, dass die Arbeit Geneigter von Zwoisy Mears-Clarke leider nicht beim diesjährigen FAVORITEN Festival gezeigt werden kann.
Neben der Notwendigkeit einer dauerhaften Begleitung durch eine*n Gebärdensprachdolmetscher*in ist aufgrund einer Umbesetzung eine neue, wesentlich längere Probenzeit notwendig geworden. Hierdurch ist eine erhebliche Erhöhung des angedachten Budgets entstanden, die das Festival leider nicht aufbringen kann und für die es aufgrund der Kurzfristigkeit nicht möglich war, eine entsprechende Förderung zu beantragen.
Es ist uns ein großes Anliegen, Menschen mit Behinderungen – dies betrifft sowohl Künstler*innen als auch Publikum – in Zukunft das Teilhaben, oder besser “Ganzhaben”, am Festival zu ermöglichen. Wir bemühen uns, unsere Praxen in der Form zu verändern und diesen Aspekt von vornherein mitzudenken, damit wir dem Publikum affektive, nachdenkliche Kunstwerke und den Künstler*innen einen diskriminierungsfreien Arbeitsraum bieten können.
Die Arbeit Geneigter von Zwoisy Mears-Clarke stellt einen wichtigen Teil und eine große Bereicherung des Festivalprogramms von FAVORITEN 2022 dar und es ist traurig, bisher keine zufriedenstellende Lösung für diese Herausforderung gefunden zu haben.
Wir sind froh darüber, in gutem Kontakt mit dem Team von Geneigter zu sein und freuen uns über die Möglichkeit, Teile aus dem Entstehungsprozess der Arbeit zeigen zu können. Hierzu werden drei Formate – Videointerviews, ein Zine und eine Lesung – von Zwoisy Mears-Clarke, Elena Polzer und Kollaborateur*innen ab dem 15.9.22 im digitalen Showcase auf der Festivalwebsite zu sehen sein.

Im Sinne des Festival-Mottos (UN)LEARNING FOR POSSIBLE FUTURES setzen wir uns mit solidarischer Ökonomie auseinander und führen in diesem Jahr ein neues Preissystem ein: Pay What You Want. Es gibt verschiedene Preisstufen zwischen 1€ und 25€ und das Publikum entscheidet selbst, wie viel es bezahlen will und kann. Die Qualität der Sitzplätze wird durch den Preis nicht beeinflusst. Einhergehend mit diesem Preissystem verzichten wir auf andere Ermäßigungen.

Change of programme for the artistic works of Zwoisy Mears-Clarke:
Instead of Geneigter, we are showing Deep-Source Eruptions: Cracking open the legacy of German colonialism in Namibia | WARP & WEFT in the FAVORITEN Festival 2022.
We regret to inform you that the work Geneigter by Zwoisy Mears-Clarke cannot be shown at this year's FAVORITEN Festival.
In addition to the need for permanent accompaniment by a sign language interpreter, a new, much longer rehearsal period has become necessary due to a change of cast. This has resulted in a considerable increase in the planned budget, which the festival is unfortunately unable to raise and for which it was not possible to apply for appropriate funding due to the short notice.
It is very important to us to enable people with disabilities - both artists and audiences - to participate in the festival in the future, or rather to "have it all". We strive to change our practices and to think about this aspect from the beginning, so that we can offer the audience affective, thought-provoking artworks and the artists a non-discriminatory working space.
The work Geneigter by Zwoisy Mears-Clarke is an important part and a great enrichment of the festival programme of FAVORITEN 2022 and it is sad not to have found a satisfactory solution to this challenge so far.
We are happy to remain in good contact with the Geneigter team and looking forward to the opportunity to show parts of the work's development process. Three formats - video interviews, a zine and a reading - by Zwoisy Mears-Clarke, Elena Polzer and collaborators will be available in the digital showcase on the festival website from 15.9.22 onwards.
