The family that has no skeleton in a cupboard has buried it instead

A Comical play in Two Acts by Stephen Don
based in a small village in rural Ireland, where the local Public House is a resting place for men and women from the surrounding communities, and the local barman is considered a sort of modern day Ganesha, a knower of all that is important to the lost soul, and a lover of every man and woman that is willing to spend their well-earned wages on a pint of Stout.

The play explores the important subjects of land ownership and family traditions through the personal struggles of two brothers who are complete polar opposites to each other. It also employs the central location of the Irish Public House, a life-giving artery to so many rural and farming communities in Ireland.

Humorvolles Stück in zwei Akten über Irland, den Pub und das Landleben

Ländliches Irland:
Alles spielt sich im örtlichen Pub ab, hier legen sie alle ihre Pausen ein, Männer und Frauen aus den umliegenden Dörfern. Der Barmann ist so etwas wie Beichtvater und Landrat in einem, er weiß alles über alle und er mag jeden, der bereit ist, sein hartverdientes Geld für ein Glas Guinness hinzulegen.

Hier aber dreht sich nun alles um Micky und Jimmy, zwei Brüder, wie sie unterschiedlicher nicht sein könnten, und um deren anhaltende Geplänkel um ihr wichtigstes Thema: Wen hat der verstorbene Vater mehr geliebt? Und dann ist da natürlich noch Nuala, die Schöne, die Beste – und die einzige! Frau in ganz Donegal, die Mut genug hat, in einem Pub zu arbeiten. Das Guinness fließt in Strömen, und je mehr davon die Kehlen hinunterrinnt, desto hitziger werden auch die Debatten...

"Shenanigans" heißt auf irisch "Unfug", "Quatsch".
